Pros and Cons
Smartphones are made to make our lives easier but with rising fees for standard things like text messaging and calling why should we have smartphones?
Smartphones are very helpful in daily life and provide necessary tools that some people rely on to carry out their day. For instance most people rely on their phone as their alarm clock. Smartphones also help us keep in touch quickly and easily with text message, calling, email, and social media all of these things now are all on your phone and can be accessed almost anywhere there is a signal or 4G. Smartphones also can carry around hundreds of songs, so instead of carrying around many different devices: laptop, IPod, phone, tablet, PDA, and many other things people now just carry around their phone. Another thing a Smartphone is good for is finding your way. Smartphones are designed with map technology which can precisely locate your exact location and give you directions to where you need to go. It’s kind of creepy but also cool in a way. The last thing I am going to mention is that with a smartphone is that you have internet access about everywhere.
Smartphones also have a downside to them the first reason is the cost. On top of the price of the phone there are also things like unlimited texting and calling and data usage that are offered for an additional cost, the average teenage sends about 3,000 texts per month so an unlimited plan may be necessary to avoid bankruptcy. Another reason you may not want to buy a smart phone is the expected life span of a smartphone is 36 months which is three years and most smartphone companies lock you into a contract for only two years “forcing” you to buy their latest model with “a slightly better camera.”

Social Impact
Smartphones have a big impact on teens and also adults in our world today, in both positive and negative ways. A positive way is encouraging teens to get involved in causes like anti-bulling and research for dieses like cancer through social media apps on their phones like Facebook and Twitter. But smartphones can also be used in a negative way like cyber bulling via text and social media.
